BOARD MEETING

MINUTES JULY 1, 2001

I. OLD BUSINESS

2001 ALSRI CUP: the motion to hold a 1-day event to declare the 2001 champion failed. There will be no cup champion for 2001.

PRIMM UPDATE: there will be approximately 40 participants at Primm. Look for an e-mail from Al Valentine for an event in San Diego in October.

2. TOURNAMENT CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Rick got sign-ups for all of the tournament jobs for Rancho Park. He will pick up the scorecards and get them to George for printing. George will deliver the printed cards to James to take to the course early as the starter.

3. TREASURER’S REPORT

The current bank will start charging service fees on our account. Stan gave the board account fee information from other major banks will more accessibility. The board will vote on which bank to change our account to at the next meeting.

Archie stated the club should establish a "tournament index" to minimize player scores that are often much lower in tournaments than their index.

The board asked that Stan Gin calculates these indexes for the next meeting for further discussion.

III. NEW BUSINESS

1. Golf Extra Tournament

The board voted to not participate in this tournament due to the requirement to provide personal information/mailing list of members.

2. Low Gross Tournament Prize

The board approved expenditures for a low gross prize (overall) for tournaments from now on; Rick will notify individuals who signed up to purchase prizes for Rancho Park, and will remind others before each tournament.

3. Logo

The board voted to advertise for member submissions for a logo in the August newsletter. The deadline for submission of logos is August 31, and the board will vote on the official logo at the next meeting on September 9, 2001.

4. Newsletter

Tim proposed stopping all "snail mail" of newsletters; 29 members not online to date out of 100. Tabled until the next meeting.
